Empowering homeless women and their children to achieve permanent, independent living.

Branching Out Capital Campaign

Over the past five years, our community has lost 58 shelter beds causing a critical shortage for homeless women and children.

Lake County Haven regularly has to turn away women and children in crisis because it just doesn’t have the capacity to take them in. Given the success of its current programs, Lake County Haven would like to expand by adding a new residence to respond to the needs of more homeless women and children.

Lake County Haven is Branching Out

The new shelter will be similar to its current shelter in philosophy and service delivery. It will:

  • Serve women in crisis who have no money and no resources.
  • Be a 10-bed residence designed to provide a supportive environment, as well as the training and guidance that people need to transition to independent living.
