Below is a listing of a few such opportunities. If you have a unique talent or skill that you’d like to provide to the Haven, just contact us. Chances are good that we need it!
Meal Donations
Volunteer to provide breakfast, lunch or dinner for the women and children in our shelter. Our residents really love it! You can also sign up to donate two bags of groceries. Sign up sheets for each option make it easy to fit into your schedule. Select a meal and time that works for you and get details on our Meal Donations page.
Community Outreach
The Haven is always in need of volunteers to help hang flyers in all Lake County communities. Coordinate with our Volunteer Coordinator to pick a city you’d like to help with, and she will provide flyers and further direction on where to hang and/or distribute materials.
Handwriting and Office Work
Occasionally, volunteers are needed in the Haven’s administrative office. Volunteers may work on projects like helping hand-write notes, putting together mailings, organizing supplies or other light clerical projects.
Professional Services
Occasionally there is a need for professionals to offer services to Haven residents or to the agency. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator to learn more.
Fundraising
We need volunteers to help plan and organize events such as holiday events, our spring fundraiser, and other events throughout the year. These events are a great way to have fun, make new friends, and support a great cause.
Leadership Council
Are you a leader? We need you! LC is a small group of inner-circle community members who step up to make things happen at LCH and in our community. We need your dedication, intelligence, resources and creativity. If you are interested in joining the LCH, please talk to our Volunteer Coordinator.
Teams of Volunteers
If you belong to a group that is looking for a project, there are many additional opportunities available such as Wish List drives, larger projects at the shelter, and conducting special events to benefit the Haven such as a bake sale, car wash, etc. ♥
